1. Who we are

This website, signaturewebsite.com, is run by Signature (“Signature,” “we,” “us”), a web design and development studio based in Miami, FL, United States. This policy explains what information we collect through the website and by email, how we use it, and the choices you have. It doesn’t cover websites we build or manage for clients; their owners are responsible for them.

2. Information you give us

When you send a brief through the “Start a project” form, we collect:

• your name and email address;
• your business name and current website, if you include them;
• what you need and, if you include them, roughly how many pages and when you’d like to launch;
• the message you write about your project.

When the form is sent, our server also saves your IP address, your browser and device type, and the page you came from with your brief. We use these to spot spam and abuse.

If you email us or become a client, we also receive your email address, whatever you include in your messages, and the information and materials you share for your project.

Please don’t send passwords, payment card numbers or other sensitive information through the form or by email. If we work together and need access to an account, we’ll agree on a safer way to set that up.

3. Information collected when you visit

Like almost every website, our server records basic technical information when a page is requested: your IP address, your browser and device type, the page you asked for, the page that linked you here, and the date and time. We use it to keep the website secure and working, for example to stop spam and abuse of the form. We delete these server logs after 30 days.

4. How we use your information

We use the information described above to:

• read your brief and reply to you;
• send you an email confirming that we received your brief;
• discuss and quote your project and, if we work together, deliver and support it;
• keep records of our conversations and work, and meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations;
• protect the website, the form and our email from spam, fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms.

We don’t add you to a mailing list or send you marketing emails unless you ask us to. If we ever want to use your information for a purpose that’s materially different from these, we’ll ask your permission first.

5. Cookies and tracking

This website doesn’t place cookies on your device, and it doesn’t use analytics, advertising or other tracking tools. We don’t allow other companies to collect information about your activity on this website, or about your activity across other websites through it.

Some browsers can send a “Do Not Track” signal. Because this website doesn’t track visitors, it doesn’t need to respond to that signal, and it works the same either way.

6. Who we share information with

We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t share it with anyone for their own marketing or advertising. We share it only with service providers who help us run the website and work with you, and only as much as they need:

• Our hosting provider, which stores the website and the briefs sent through it on its servers.
• Google, which provides our email (Gmail). New briefs are sent to our inbox, and our confirmation emails and replies are sent through Gmail, so Google stores those emails under its own terms and privacy policy.
• Contractors and professional advisers, such as a designer or developer helping on a client project, or our accountant or lawyer, when they need the information for that work. They must keep it confidential.

We may also disclose information when the law requires it, such as in response to a subpoena or court order; to protect our rights, property or safety, or those of others; or as part of a sale, merger or reorganization of our business, in which case we’ll require the new owner to handle it consistently with this policy.

7. How long we keep information

We keep your brief and our emails about it while we’re talking with you and, if we work together, for as long as we need them to deliver and support your project and keep business, tax and legal records. If we don’t end up working together, we delete your brief within 24 months of our last contact. Server logs are deleted after 30 days, as described above.

When we delete information, we remove it from the systems we use day to day. Copies in backups are deleted as those backups are replaced.

8. Your choices and rights

You can ask us to tell you what personal information we have about you, send you a copy, correct it, or delete it, by emailing hello@signaturewebsite.com. We’ll reply within 30 days. We may need to confirm it’s you before acting on a request. We may keep information the law requires us to keep, or that we need for a signed agreement, invoices or a legal claim; if so, we’ll tell you.

Some US states, including California, give their residents specific privacy rights, such as the right to know, correct and delete personal information and to opt out of its sale or its use for targeted advertising. Those laws mainly apply to larger businesses, but we offer the requests above to everyone, wherever they live. We don’t sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising, so there’s nothing to opt out of. We won’t treat you differently for making a request.

9. Children

Anyone may browse this website, but you must be 18 or older to send us a brief or hire us. It isn’t directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their personal information. If you think a child has sent us information, email us and we’ll delete it.

10. Security

We use reasonable measures to protect the information we keep, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and limiting access to the people who need it. No website, server or email service is completely secure, so we can’t guarantee that information will never be accessed, disclosed or lost. If we learn of a security incident that affects your personal information, we’ll notify you as the law requires.

11. Visitors outside the United States

This website is run from the United States and is intended for people there. If you visit or contact us from elsewhere, your information is processed and stored in the United States, under US law.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. When we do, we’ll post the new version here and change the effective date at the top. If a change is significant, we’ll also note it clearly at the top of this page. Changes apply to information collected after the new version takes effect. We won’t make a significant change to how we use information we already have without your permission.
